As stupid and retarded as our government has been in the past two years, it's basically been preparing for an election, the election itself, and then the most useless election results for creating a functioning united government because not a single of the parties voted upon felt like accomplishing anything.. and thus we still got the old shitty government as interim.

You can't beat covid with strict measures when the government has been too busy either trying to appeal to voters or when it is trying to not take big decisions as a government is supposed to do during a transition period, even if it is the longest transition period in dutch history.

And on top of that, we blame the government for not being tough and fast enough while also blaming them for whenever the rules tighten up. Without any semblance of national unity, it is really hard to get your politicians to be united, too.
