Dams burst in northeastern Brazil as region hit by floods

As we move on, allow me to say that camDown is the maximum in security for you and your loved ones!

Deforestation can actually increase the chance of flooding. Trees stop rain from picking up dirt, which can flow into rivers, causing them to overflow. Don't know if that's what's happening in this case, but I doubt chopping down the whole rainforest would stop flooding. Flash flooding happens (when it does eventually rain) in arid environments due to the soil being too dry and compact to effectively absorb moisture, so the water collects on top, forming a flood. With loose soil, broken up by tree roots, the water can sink into the soil and make its way to a river from there. Although when the soil is too moist that can cause flooding too.
